Arsenal weigh move for Roma midfielder Manu Koné in €50m deal

France and Côte d’Ivoire midfielder Manu Koné, who currently plays for Roma, has been linked with a summer move to Arsenal as the Premier League club assess central midfield options ahead of next season.

The 25-year-old, valued at €50.00m on Transfermarkt, is reported to have a 40% chance of making the switch from Serie A to the Premier League, with his contractual situation at Roma described as uncertain. With no publicly listed expiry date on his deal in Italy, observers have noted that a failure to agree fresh terms could eventually leave Koné on course to run down his contract and test the market as a free agent.

Koné, a right-footed central midfielder standing at 1.85m, has built a reputation as a powerful, ball-winning presence capable of operating as a classic number eight. Born in Colombes on 17 May 2001, he is eligible for both France and Côte d’Ivoire and is regarded as entering his prime years, which has only intensified speculation over a move to a higher-profile league.

Roma have relied on him heavily in Serie A this season, including his latest outing in mid-June where he featured in a tight, hard-fought match for the Giallorossi – a display that underlined why leading clubs continue to track his progress in Italy’s top flight.

Koné wears the No 17 shirt at Roma and has previously accumulated experience across different levels of European football before establishing himself in Serie A. His versatility in central midfield and ability to contribute in and out of possession have made him a consistent starter in Rome.

With his market value holding firm at €50.00m and Premier League clubs increasingly targeting Serie A talent, a move to Arsenal would represent a significant step in Koné’s career and could define both his reputation and long-term trajectory at the top of the European game if it materialises.
