Sissoko’s Future Uncertain Amid Arsenal and PSG Interest Following Pardew Exit
Moussa Sissoko’s plans to remain at Newcastle United until the end of the season may now be reconsidered following the departure of manager Alan Pardew. The French midfielder, who has been one of the Magpies’ standout performers, is reportedly attracting renewed interest from top European clubs.
According to The Independent, Arsenal have made initial contact and are keen to bring the former Toulouse man to the Emirates during the January transfer window. The Gunners have reportedly submitted an offer in the region of €11.5 million. However, Newcastle are holding firm on their valuation and are said to be demanding €19 million for the 25-year-old.
The uncertainty surrounding Newcastle’s managerial future could push Sissoko toward a move, and Arsenal may not be alone in the race. The Mirror reports that Paris Saint-Germain are also monitoring the player’s situation closely, offering potential competition for Arsène Wenger’s side.
Sissoko, who joined Newcastle in 2013, has made no secret of his ambition to play at the highest level, and a move to a Champions League club could now materialise sooner than expected. Whether Arsenal will be willing to meet Newcastle’s asking price, or whether PSG will step in with a stronger bid, remains to be seen.
