Inter Milan have set their sights on Arsenal’s right-back Bacary Sagna for the upcoming season, as they look to strengthen their defense.
Following an agreement reached for the acquisition of Nemanja Vidic from Manchester United, the Milanese club is now eyeing the former Auxerre player, as reported by Corriere Della Serra.
Sagna fits the profile desired by Lombard leaders, who are prepared to offer him a lucrative three-year contract worth 2.5 million euros annually.
With his current contract set to expire, Sagna has declined to extend his stay at Arsenal. The Gunners have offered him a maximum one-year extension, unwilling to offer longer terms to players over thirty. Having been with Arsenal since 2007, the former Auxerre defender might be enticed by the ambitious internal project initiated by the club’s new wealthy Indonesian owner, Erick Thohir.
