Premier League outfit Arsenal are reportedly leading the race to sign Spanish-Ghanaian winger Nico Williams ahead of the summer transfer window.
Williams has consistently been linked with a move from Athletic Bilbao, with several clubs including Barcelona, Arsenal and Chelsea expressing keen interest in the winger following his outstanding performance for club and country.
However, the talented winger opted to snub significant transfer interest in order to remain at Athletic Bilbao.
According to reports, the Gunners are currently leading Bayern Munich in the pursuit of the talented winger. Williams favors a move to England at the expense of Germany, limiting Bayern chances of luring the player.
At Arsenal, Williams is promised a spot in the starting lineup, as the club is actively seeking reinforcements for the left flank of their attack.
Bayern would like to sign Williams but needs to sell some of their players first, which requires more time. However, Williams is not willing to wait long for a concrete offer.
He was on target on Thursday when Spain held the Netherlands to a 2-2 draw in the UEFA Nations League quarterfinal first leg.
The 22-year-old has made 37 appearances for Bilbao this season, scoring 9 goals and delivering 7 appearances.
