Arsenal has recalled Ghanaian teenager Charles Sagoe Jr. from his loan spell at League One side Shrewsbury Town.
The 20-year-old joined Shrewsbury in the summer, where he made 18 appearances. However, despite regular game time, he was unable to score or register any assists during his time with the club.
Sagoe Jr. was notably left out of the squad for Shrewsbury’s match against Leyton Orient on Saturday, a decision that may have prompted Arsenal to cut short his loan arrangement.
In a statement on their official website, Shrewsbury confirmed the recall: “Shrewsbury Town can confirm Charles Sagoe Jr. has returned to parent club Arsenal. The 20-year-old made 18 appearances for Town after joining the club on a temporary basis from the Gunners back in August.”
The statement continued: “Shrewsbury would like to thank Charles for all his hard work over the past five months. We wish him and his family the very best of luck for the future.”
