Arsenal open talks to sign French-Angolan defender Castello Lukeba
English side Arsenal F.C. have reportedly begun preliminary discussions over a potential summer move for France-born defender of Angolan descent, Castello Lukeba, from RB Leipzig.
The 23-year-old centre back remains under contract with the Bundesliga side until 2029, but reports suggest he could be open to a new challenge after spending three seasons in Germany.
Interest in the defender is not limited to England, with several clubs from both the Premier League and La Liga monitoring his situation closely. Lukeba, who developed through the youth ranks at Olympique Lyonnais, has attracted attention for his consistent performances in the Bundesliga.
Arsenal are believed to have stepped up their scouting efforts, with a club representative reportedly in attendance during Leipzig’s recent draw against Borussia Dortmund.
While no formal bid has been submitted so far, Leipzig are expected to demand more than €60 million for the French defender should interest from multiple clubs intensify in the upcoming transfer window.
