Arsenal are being linked with a summer move for Bayer Leverkusen’s 19-year-old Cameroonian centre-forward Christian Kofane.

The Leverkusen striker, listed with a market value of €40.00m as of 20 March 2026, is the subject of fresh speculation over a switch from the Bundesliga to the Premier League, with Arsenal named as suitors in the latest transfer reports dated 1 April 2026. The reported probability of the move remains unclear, with the deal currently rated only as “?” in early rumour listings.

Kofane, who wears the number 35 shirt for Leverkusen, has seen his valuation rise sharply over the past year. In March 2025, during his time at Spanish side Albacete Balompié, he was valued at just €200,000 before climbing to €5m three months later. Since moving to Leverkusen in July 2025, that figure has increased again to €12m in October, €22m in December and now €40m, underlining his rapid development in Germany’s top flight.

Born in Douala on 26 July 2006, the 1.89m right-footed forward began his senior career with AS Nylon in Cameroon before moving to Spain with Albacete Balompié’s U19s in November 2024. He was promoted to Albacete’s first team in January 2025 and then secured his transfer to Leverkusen ahead of the 2025-26 campaign.

Kofane operates primarily as a centre-forward in an attacking role and is currently recorded with Bayer 04 Leverkusen rather than a national-team set-up. His contract details at the Bundesliga club have not been disclosed, and there is no listed expiry date, leaving open future scenarios that could, in time, include a free-agent departure once any current deal runs down.

No fee has yet been reported for a potential move to Arsenal, and with the probability still undefined, a transfer is at the purely speculative stage. If a deal were eventually to materialise, a switch from Leverkusen to north London would mark the next major step in Kofane’s swiftly ascending career and could play a significant role in shaping his reputation as one of Cameroon’s most promising young forwards.
