Arsenal legend, Ian Wright has kicked against the decision to deploy Thomas Partey at the right-back position.
Mikel Arteta has been forced to deploy the Ghana midfielder at the right-back position due to injuries.
Partey has survived the test in past games but has come under pressure for his sloppy performance against Aston Villa on Saturday.
The Gunners appeared to be on course to secure back-to-back wins as goals from Gabriel Martinelli and Kai Havertz put the Gunners two in front.
However, Villa pulled a goal back through Youri Tielemans before Ollie Watkins capitalised on poor defending from Thomas Partey to volley past David Raya from close range.
“With the players available, I think Thomas Partey should not be playing at the defense,” Wright said on Premier League Production after the game.
“He is a midfielder and that us where should be playing,” he added.
The draw against Villa has left Arsenal six points behind Premier League leaders Liverpool, who beat Brentford 2-0 earlier on Saturday and also have a game in hand.
Arsenal will hope to return to winning ways when they host Dinamo Zagreb in the Champions League before travelling to play Wolves.
