Arsenal join race to sign French-Beninese defender Jules Kounde

IMG 6669

French-Beninese defender Jules Kounde has emerged as a transfer target for Premier League powerhouse Arsenal as the summer transfer window approaches.

The Gunners are seeking to strengthen their squad for the new campaign as they aim to compete for titles.

With the appointment of Andrea Berta as the new sporting director, the Gunners intends to make acquisitions to bolster their squad.

Chelsea, who initially expressed interest in the defender faces a stiffer competition from rivals Arsenals.

Arsenal are ready to significantly invest in strengthening the squad, and could allocate 75 million euros for Kounde’s transfer—15 million more than last summer when the Frenchman was also linked with a move to London.

The 26-year-old has made 50 appearances for Barcelona this season, scoring three goals and delivering eight assists across the period.

Kounde joined Barcelona in June 2022 and has a contract until 2027.
