David Ospina Completes Move from Nice to Arsenal
Colombian goalkeeper David Ospina will not be returning to OGC Nice this season, having secured a transfer to English Premier League side Arsenal following an impressive World Cup campaign with the Cafeteros. The London club confirmed the signing after weeks of negotiations.
Arsène Wenger, Arsenal’s manager, praised Ospina’s qualities on the club’s official website, stating: “David Ospina is an excellent goalkeeper, with good experience and a proven track record with Nice and Colombia. He will bring strength to our squad and we are very delighted to have him join us.”
According to French sports daily L’Équipe, the transfer fee is estimated at around €3.5 million, marking a significant step for Ospina as he joins one of England’s leading clubs.
