Arsenal suffered their first defeat of the season, losing 1-3 against Aston Villa. Arsène Wenger takes responsibility and remains composed, stating, “We started well. We had everything against us afterward. We were victims of two or three surprising decisions.” He continues, “We have to bounce back very quickly. We have a very important match next week, the Champions League play-off first leg against Fenerbahçe.”
“When you lose here, you always have to buy! The real question is whether we could win with the team that was on the field. You shouldn’t dream. Today the market is very difficult. Few players can strengthen us. We want to qualify for the Champions League, but that has nothing to do with it!”
Arsenal would have liked to secure one or two star players, but the challenging market conditions make it difficult.
