Arne Slot confident Mohamed Salah will recover despite recent struggles

Liverpool manager Arne Slot acknowledged that Mohamed Salah faces a clear performance dip, but he’s not concerned about the Egyptian star’s future.

Salah has managed just three goals in 12 matches this season, a sharp decline from his usual standards. The Reds lost four consecutive matches before bouncing back with a commanding 5-1 victory over Frankfurt in the Champions League, where Salah came off the bench late in the game.

“I don’t know if the reason for Mohamed’s missed chances is the rhythm or something else, but players usually miss chances,” Slot explained. “It’s a human thing. We’re not used to it or consecutive matches without goals, but that happens in football.”

The manager emphasized that Salah regularly scores for Liverpool and will bounce back. “The important thing is that Mohamed always scores for us,” he noted. “I’m not worried because he will definitely return to the net, that’s what he does throughout his life.”

Slot suggested potential tactical adjustments, hinting that “Maybe Mohamed was affected by playing long periods next to Trent Alexander-Arnold, but the Egyptian player positioned himself in areas allowing him to score often this season, maybe even more with Arnold.” He added that the squad’s significant overhaul requires all players to adapt, with Salah no exception.
