Arnaud Kalimuendo: Frankfurt interest emerges in Nottingham Forest striker

Arnaud Kalimuendo, the France and DR Congo-qualified forward at Nottingham Forest, has been linked with a move to German club Frankfurt.

The 24-year-old joined Forest from Rennes for €30m in August 2025 but spent the second half of last season on loan at Frankfurt, where the temporary spell ended on 30 June. A return to the Bundesliga club is now being reported as a possible transfer, with the likelihood of the move rated at 44%.

Kalimuendo has made one Premier League appearance for Forest this season, playing one minute, and also started the club’s EFL Cup match. He has not scored or provided an assist in those appearances.

The centre-forward’s current market value is listed at €25m, below the fee Forest paid to sign him from Rennes. Before moving to England, Kalimuendo spent two seasons with the French club after progressing through Paris St-Germain’s academy and making loan appearances for Lens.

He won the French title and French League Cup with PSG, as well as the French Super Cup, and was part of the France squad that finished second at the 2024 Olympic Games.

Kalimuendo remains under contract at Nottingham Forest until 30 June 2030, meaning any move to Frankfurt would require an agreement between the clubs rather than a free transfer.
