Argentine giants River Plate set to move for Moroccan goalkeeper Yassine Bono after World Cup

Argentine giants River Plate are reportedly preparing to enter negotiations for Moroccan international goalkeeper Yassine Bounou once the World Cup concludes.

According to foreign media reports, the Buenos Aires-based club is keen on securing the services of the shot-stopper, who currently plays for Al-Hilal in Saudi Arabia. River Plate are said to be waiting until the end of the global tournament before submitting an official offer.

However, any potential move is expected to face significant financial challenges. The main concern for the Argentine side revolves around Bono’s current salary package in Saudi Arabia, which could prove difficult to match.

The Moroccan goalkeeper is believed to earn approximately 10.2 million euros per year, equivalent to 62.49 million riyals. That figure translates to roughly 850,000 riyals per month, a sum considered extremely high by Argentine football standards and one that may complicate negotiations.

Despite the financial obstacle, River Plate appear determined to explore the possibility of bringing the experienced goalkeeper to South America, as they look to strengthen their squad with a high-profile addition once the World Cup dust settles.
