USM Alger have officially announced the departure of assistant coach Arezki Remmane after he was appointed by FIFA as a technical officer within its global football development programme.

Remmane will now work with the Mauritanian Football Federation (FFRIM), a move the Algerian club describe as a major step in his career.

USMA see this new role as “a global recognition” of Remmane’s technical qualities and insist his track record and expertise in coaching and mentoring “now speak for themselves beyond national borders”. The club highlight his professionalism and rigour throughout his time with the Red and Black.

In its statement, the board expressed its “sincere thanks” to Remmane for “his professionalism and commitment” and wished him every success, hoping he will be “a worthy representative and ambassador of Algerian coaching abroad”.

Remmane, for his part, sent an emotional farewell message, thanking the management, technical staff, players, and medical and logistics teams for their support. He said he retains “a deep attachment” to USM Alger, which he described as a “mythical” club, and reserved special appreciation for the fans and their constant backing, as both sides close an important chapter and open a new international one for the coach.
