Previous meetings
APR FC and Zamalek have met twice before in the CAF Champions League, with both matches played in 2008.
Zamalek won 2-1 in Kigali in the first encounter before completing a 2-0 victory in the return fixture. The Egyptian side therefore has a perfect record against APR FC and will look to maintain that advantage in this tie.
Form guide
APR FC come into the match with confidence after recovering from a difficult first-leg result in the previous round. They lost 1-0 to Aigles du Congo but overturned the deficit by winning the return match 3-0.
The Rwandan side then continued its positive run with a 4-2 victory over Marines FC.
Zamalek are also in convincing form. The Egyptian club have put together a run of victories and recorded a 4-0 win over Port FC in their most recently listed match.
With a strong attacking record, Zamalek have the quality to cause problems for APR FC despite playing away from home.
Prediction
Zamalek start as slight favourites because of their greater continental experience and their previous victories over APR FC. However, the home advantage could help the Rwandan team compete strongly in the opening leg.
Africafoot’s prediction is a 1-1 draw.
The betting odds listed for the match give APR FC a price of 6.16 to win, with a draw rated at 3.66 and a Zamalek victory at 1.48.
