Rwandan Premier League champions APR FC have successfully extended the contracts of key defenders Yunusu Nshimiyimana and Clement Niyigena. The pair, whose initial contracts were set to expire on June 30, have committed to an additional two years with the club.
This development comes amid a period of transition for APR FC, as outgoing head coach Thierry Froger and his assistant officially departed for France on June 19.
The club is currently in the process of identifying Froger’s successor, with Serbian coach Darko Novic emerging as a leading candidate for the role.
In other transfer news, Police FC have made a significant addition to their squad by signing Gorilla FC captain Simeon Iradukunda on a two-year deal.
Iradukunda, a holding midfielder, has impressed over the past two seasons and is expected to bring stability and depth to Police FC’s midfield.
The 2023/24 Peace Cup winners, Police FC, have also acquired former Ghanaian player Issah Yakubu from Malian giants Stade Malien.

Additionally, he has played for the Ghana U23 national team, adding valuable experience to Police FC’s roster.
Meanwhile, Rayon Sports are on the verge of finalizing a deal for Burundian central midfielder Richard Ndayishimiye, who played for Muhazi United in the 2023/24 season.
Negotiations are in advanced stages, with the final agreement pending approval from the club’s management.
