Antonio Rudiger set to sign new Real Madrid deal
Antonio Rudiger is reportedly on the verge of signing a new contract that will keep him at Real Madrid until June 2027, according to transfer insider Nicolo Schira.
The former Chelsea defender’s current deal was due to expire on June 30, but both parties are now understood to be finalizing the last details of an extension.
Rudiger has become a key figure at the heart of Madrid’s defence since arriving on a free transfer from Chelsea in July 2022. At 33, his experience and leadership have helped stabilize the backline, and the club clearly values his influence on and off the pitch. This season, he has made 26 appearances in all competitions and chipped in with one goal, underlining his importance in Alvaro Arbeloa’s rotation.
The extension would also give Real Madrid continuity in a position that often demands stability, especially with younger defenders still developing around him. For Rudiger, it offers the chance to extend a successful chapter in the Spanish capital and compete for more major trophies over the next year.
