Antonio Rudiger expected to remain at Real Madrid amid ongoing contract talks

Spanish journalist Matteo Moretto has offered fresh insight into Antonio Rudiger’s contract situation at Real Madrid, and the signs suggest the defender is leaning toward staying in the Spanish capital.

While an agreement has not yet been fully sealed, talks between the club and the German centre-back’s camp are ongoing, with optimism growing around a renewal.

Moretto explained the current state of negotiations, saying, “The Rudiger issue isn’t over; the parties are still talking. There are doubts about his knee and his fitness. Real Madrid is in discussions with his representatives. Right now, I’d say he’s going to stay.” Despite lingering concerns about his physical condition, Rudiger continues to be viewed as an important part of Madrid’s defensive core.

His future is also tied to the club’s wider planning at the back, as Real Madrid track potential signings like Nico Schlotterbeck and Ibrahima Konate.

Even with other options on the table, the expectation around Valdebebas is that Rudiger will remain a key figure, using his experience and aggressive style to anchor the defence in the coming seasons.
