Black Stars forward Antoine Semenyo is determined to elevate his performances after finding the net in Ghana’s emphatic 5-0 victory over Chad in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
The AFC Bournemouth striker opened the scoring in the Matchday Five fixture, marking his third international goal in 21 appearances since his debut in 2022.
Speaking to SuperSport, Semenyo acknowledged his desire for more goals while reflecting on his form for the national team.
“I definitely want more goals. For sure. I think any player that plays in an attacking position wants more goals, but I feel like it’s been some decent performances, some not great performances, but I mean, I’m quite humble. I know when I’ve played well. I know when I’ve played pretty badly,” he said.
Despite recognizing that he has yet to hit his best form for Ghana, Semenyo remains confident in his ability to improve.
“So I’ll just say it’s just like a steady slope. It’s just been very average, and I feel like I can still give, give more,” he added.
“So I hope no one’s judging me from these 26 games I’ve played so far. But yeah, there’s more to come,” he added.
With his goal against Chad boosting his confidence, Semenyo will be eager to make an impact again when the Black Stars take on Madagascar in their Matchday Six clash at the Al Hoceima Grand Stadium tonight.
