Antoine Kombouaré has made a return to football management in France. Following his tenure with Al-Hilal, the Kanak coach has been appointed as the head of RC Lens. The club, known as Sang et Or, officially announced the news on its website, confirming that Gervais Martel has chosen Kombouaré as the new coach.
The formal announcement on the club’s website stated, “Gervais Martel has chosen Antoine Kombouaré to become the new coach of Racing Club de Lens. The two men will give a press conference as soon as the takeover of the club is made official. Gervais Martel would like to thank Eric Sikora and his staff for their excellent work during the 2012/2013 season.”
For Kombouaré, this marks a significant challenge after his departure from his previous club, PSG. His new task is to guide RC Lens back to the top tier of football, representing a fresh opportunity for the experienced coach.
