Uruguay-Niger midfielder Anthony Sosa has joined Dominican side Cibao FC on a free transfer from Colon FC. The 29-year-old left-footer, who primarily operates on the left of midfield, has signed a deal running until 30 June 2027 with the Liga Dominicana de Futbol club.

Sosa arrives with a market value of 150,000 and recent experience across South and Central America. He moves after a short spell at Uruguayan outfit Colon, whom he had joined in January 2026, also as a free agent. His switch continues a career that has taken in regular top-flight and second-tier football in Uruguay, as well as stints in Portugal and elsewhere in the region.

Born in Jose Pedro Varela in July 1996 and standing at 1.77m, Sosa has built a reputation as a consistent performer on the left flank. Across league and cup competitions, he has made more than 150 senior appearances, including 60 in Uruguays Segunda Division, 27 in the Liga AUF Apertura and 25 in the Liga AUF Clausura, contributing goals and assists from wide areas.

Sosa also brings European honours to Cibao FC, having been part of a CD Nacional squad crowned champions of Portugals second tier in 2020. That spell in Liga Portugal 2 adds to a career that has featured time with clubs such as CA Progreso, CA Cerro, Albion FC, Racing (Cba), Alianza FC, Miramar and Nacionals set-up.

The move sees Cibao FC secure an experienced, left-sided midfielder on a free transfer, tying Sosa down for the 2026-27 campaign.
