Nigeria midfielder Anthony Dennis is attracting interest from Union Berlin, with the Bundesliga club linked with a move for the Göztepe defensive midfielder according to transfer data indicating a 38% probability of a deal.

The 21-year-old, currently valued at €5.00m, is reported to be on Union’s radar as they assess options to reinforce the holding role in front of their back four. Data from transfer specialists suggests the Super Lig side could face a decision over whether to cash in on one of their most rapidly appreciating assets.

Dennis has no listed contract expiry date with Göztepe, raising the prospect that he could become a free agent in the near future if no renewed terms are agreed. That uncertainty is thought to be encouraging potential suitors, with Union Berlin monitoring the situation from Germany’s top flight.

Born in Kaduna on 21 June 2004, Dennis came through HB Academy Abuja in Nigeria before moving to Türkiye with Göztepe’s U19s in January 2023. He was promoted to the senior side later that year and has since established himself as a defensive midfielder, predominantly right-footed and operating in front of the defence in the Süper Lig.

His rise has been reflected in a steep market value curve. From a listed €25,000 in late 2023, Dennis’s value climbed several times across 2024 and 2025, reaching €4m by June 2025 and €5m by October 2025 with Göztepe. That progression underpins suggestions that Union view him as a developing asset rather than a short-term fix.

Having moved from Nigerian academy football to the Turkish top flight in less than three years, a switch to the Bundesliga would represent another major step in Dennis’s career path, and if the reported interest solidifies into an offer, it could prove a defining move for his reputation and long-term potential.
