Anouar Maghynia, coach of Morocco’s U-17 women’s national football team, expressed his pride after the team achieved qualification for the World Cup round of 16 by defeating Costa Rica.

Maghynia highlighted how the young athletes have grown with each match, absorbing valuable lessons from tough encounters against Brazil and Italy, and showing technical and tactical maturity beyond their years.

Despite setbacks in their first two games, the coach revealed he maintained faith in the squad’s spirit and talent, especially as many players are still younger than their opponents. He emphasized that the team’s journey reflects the dynamic progress of Moroccan women’s football as a whole, with the technical staff putting trust in the girls despite their relative youth.

Star player Maysa Baha, who scored twice against Costa Rica, celebrated the whole team’s dedication and focus, crediting their qualification to group effort. She shared her delight at reaching the knockout stage and promised that the squad would fight with passion and high morale in the matches ahead.

This qualification marks a historic achievement and builds hope for an even brighter Moroccan women’s football future.
