Anouar El Azzouzi: Rapid Vienna linked with move for free-agent Morocco-Netherlands midfielder
Rapid Vienna have been linked with a move for Morocco-Netherlands midfielder Anouar El Azzouzi, who is currently without a club after leaving Fortuna Dusseldorf this summer.
El Azzouzi, 25, is a central midfielder valued at 1.5m and would be available on a free transfer following the end of his spell with the German side at the start of the 2026-27 season.
The right-footed midfielder joined Fortuna Dusseldorf from PEC Zwolle in July 2025, having raised his profile in the Dutch game with a steady rise in market value during his time in the Eredivisie.
Before moving to Germany, El Azzouzi enjoyed a breakthrough spell at FC Dordrecht, where his valuation grew significantly between 2021 and 2023, leading to his transfer to PEC Zwolle and subsequently attracting interest from abroad.
Born in Veenendaal and standing at 1.87m, he holds both Moroccan and Dutch nationality, offering Rapid Vienna a physically imposing central option with experience in the Netherlands and Germany should a deal be pursued.
The rumour remains at an early stage, with El Azzouzi still a free agent and Rapid Vienna monitoring the possibility of adding him to their midfield options.
