Anouar Ait El Hadj: Union SG playmaker linked with surprise move to Amed SK in Turkish Super Lig
Belgian-Moroccan attacking midfielder Anouar Ait El Hadj of Union Saint-Gilloise is being linked with a surprise transfer to Turkish Super Lig side Amed SK. The 24-year-old, who wears the No 10 shirt for Union SG, is under contract with the Belgian champions until 30 June 2028, meaning any deal would require the Turkish club to negotiate a transfer fee rather than explore a free move.
Ait El Hadj is currently valued at around €5m and has established himself as a regular in the Jupiler Pro League, with more than 100 top-flight appearances and experience in both domestic play-offs and European competition. He has also featured in the Champions League, scoring once and adding an assist in seven games at that level, underlining his exposure to higher-intensity fixtures.
Born in Molenbeek and eligible for both Belgium and Morocco, Ait El Hadj joined Union SG from Genk in July 2024 for a reported €1.5m fee, and his stock has risen sharply in Brussels. He played a part in Union’s recent trophy-laden spell, including their Belgian title win in 2024-25.
Amed SK’s interest comes as the Turkish club look to add creativity in advanced midfield areas ahead of the new Super Lig campaign. Union SG, however, are under no pressure to sell, with Ait El Hadj tied to a long-term deal that runs for another two seasons beyond this summer.
