Angers await fitness update on goalkeeper Hervé Koffi

Angers are facing uncertainty over the availability of goalkeeper Hervé Koffi ahead of their Ligue 1 meeting with Paris Saint-Germain on Saturday, with the Burkina Faso international a major doubt due to injury.

The club are set to host the league leaders at 19:00 in a key Matchday 31 fixture, but preparations have been disrupted by concerns over their first-choice goalkeeper.

According to Ouest-France, Koffi may miss the match after sustaining an injury to his left foot during the team’s final training session.

The 28-year-old was forced to leave training early and was accompanied off the pitch by two physiotherapists, raising immediate doubts over his involvement in the upcoming fixture. His condition remains unclear just hours before kick-off.

Angers, who are currently 13th in the Ligue 1 table and hold a 14-point cushion above the relegation zone, have yet to provide an official update on the extent of the injury.

However, the circumstances of his early withdrawal strongly suggest he is unlikely to feature against PSG.

Koffi has been a key figure for Angers this season, contributing significantly to their defensive stability.

He has kept 10 clean sheets in 26 appearances, underlining his importance to Alexandre Dujeux’s side during a challenging campaign.

The goalkeeper is on loan at Angers from Lens for the season and is currently valued at around €5 million, according to Transfermarkt.

With PSG providing one of the toughest tests in French football, Koffi’s potential absence represents a significant setback for Angers as they look to secure a positive result against the league’s top side.

The club are expected to make a final decision closer to match time as they continue to assess his condition.
