Ange Postecoglou forced into 17th-minute Al Nassr change during Roshn Saudi League opener

Ange Postecoglou was forced to make an early change in his first Roshn Saudi League match as Al Nassr manager after Saad Al Nasser went off injured against Al Fateh.

The Saudi Pro League fixture, played on Saturday evening, is Al Nassr’s opening match of the campaign and Postecoglou’s first official league game in charge of the club.

Al Nasser, who started at left-back, was unable to continue after sustaining an injury during a challenge with an Al Fateh player. The incident occurred in the 17th minute, leaving Al Nassr’s coaching staff with little choice but to make an immediate alteration.

Postecoglou replaced Al Nasser with Salem Al Najdi, using the full-back in an attempt to preserve the team’s balance and maintain the plan with which Al Nassr began the match.

The extent of Al Nasser’s injury was not immediately known. His condition is expected to be monitored during the remainder of the game, with further assessment required to determine how serious the problem may be.

The setback came at an early stage of a match carrying particular importance for Postecoglou, who is beginning his first official campaign with Al Nassr in the Roshn Saudi League.
