MC Alger is on the brink of securing a significant addition to their squad with the potential signing of Algerian international striker Andy Delort. As the summer transfer window edges towards its September 10 deadline, the club’s management is reportedly making strides in negotiations to bring Delort back to Algeria.

Discussions between the former FC Nantes forward and the Algiers-based club have reached an advanced stage, with sources close to the deal suggesting that a preliminary agreement is already in place.

Delort, who recently saw his stint with Qatari club Umm Salal come to an abrupt end, is now poised to join Mouloudia d’Alger.

His arrival would mark a major coup for the reigning Algerian champions, who are keen to bolster their attacking options ahead of the new season.

Although the final details of the contract are still being ironed out, insiders indicate that the transfer is likely to be confirmed in the coming days.

A two-year contract has reportedly been offered to Delort, with a salary package on par with that of former MC Alger star Youcef Belaïli, who recently made a move to ES Tunis.

Despite the mounting speculation, MC Alger’s president, Hakim Hadj-Redjem, has remained tight-lipped about the ongoing negotiations.

Hadj-Redjem, known for his cautious approach, has refused to confirm or deny the reports, opting instead to maintain a shroud of confidentiality around the potential deal.

However, it is clear that he sees Delort as a key piece in strengthening the club’s attacking lineup.

Under the leadership of Hadj-Redjem and coach Patrice Beaumelle, MC Alger has yet to close their summer transfer business, leaving the door open for further acquisitions before the window shuts.

The club is currently gearing up for their upcoming CAF Champions League campaign, with a crucial first-leg match against US Monastir in the round of 32 on the horizon.

The possible addition of Delort has generated significant excitement among MC Alger supporters, who are eagerly anticipating an official announcement.

The prospect of Delort, a player with experience in top European leagues and international competitions, leading the line for their team is seen as a major boost to their ambitions both domestically and on the continental stage.

However, the situation remains fluid, with Delort’s agent reportedly exploring alternative options in Turkey and Eastern Europe.

As the transfer window draws to a close, all eyes will be on MC Alger to see if they can finalize what could be the defining transfer of their summer.

In the meantime, the club continues to prepare for the challenges ahead, with the potential arrival of Delort promising to add a new dimension to their attacking play.

Should the deal go through, it would not only strengthen MC Alger’s squad but also signal their intent to compete at the highest level in the upcoming season.
