Andreas Christensen: Barcelona defender faces up to two months out with thigh injury

Andreas Christensen could be sidelined for up to two months after medical tests confirmed the Barcelona defender has suffered a strain to his left thigh muscle.

According to Mundo Deportivo, the Denmark international is expected to miss a significant period because of the injury, although he could return after only four weeks depending on how he responds to treatment and rehabilitation.

If Christensen is unavailable for the full two months, Barcelona will be without him for eight matches. That run would include the crucial El Clasico against Real Madrid, as well as their Champions League meeting with Paris Saint-Germain.

Christensen also missed five months last season because of injury.

Barcelona currently lead La Liga with a perfect record, having taken 21 points from their opening seven matches.
