Anderlecht lead race for Cameroonian forward Nathan Ngoumou
Cameroonian forward Nathan Ngoumou could be on the move during the summer transfer window, with Belgian giants Anderlecht among several European clubs competing for the Borussia Mönchengladbach attacker.
The 26-year-old has emerged as a sought-after target after attracting interest from multiple clubs across the continent, raising the possibility that his four-year stay with the Bundesliga side could come to an end before the start of the 2026/27 season.
According to reports, Anderlecht are leading a growing list of admirers that also includes clubs from Poland and France. Reports indicate that all three teams have already submitted offers in an attempt to secure the services of the Cameroon international.
Ngoumou remains under contract with Borussia Mönchengladbach until June 2027, meaning the German club are under no immediate pressure to sell. However, the Bundesliga outfit are reportedly willing to consider a transfer should a suitable offer arrive.
While Gladbach value the attacker’s qualities and still have him tied down on a long-term contract, club officials are said to be open to negotiations if an attractive financial proposal is presented.
The Cameroonian forward joined Borussia Mönchengladbach four years ago and has since gained valuable experience in one of Europe’s top leagues. Known for his pace, direct running and ability to operate across the front line, Ngoumou has developed into a versatile attacking option capable of playing as a winger or central striker.
His performances have not gone unnoticed, with clubs across Europe viewing him as a player capable of strengthening their attacking departments ahead of the new campaign.
For Anderlecht, signing a player with Bundesliga experience would represent a significant boost as the Belgian side continue to rebuild a squad capable of challenging for domestic honours and competing strongly in European competitions.
Meanwhile, interest from clubs in France and Poland underlines the growing demand for Ngoumou’s services. The French club reportedly believes his experience and attacking versatility would suit Ligue 1, while the Polish outfit is equally keen to lure him with the promise of a prominent role.
Despite the increasing transfer speculation, Borussia Mönchengladbach are expected to remain firm in negotiations and will only sanction the player’s departure if their valuation is met.
With several clubs already making their intentions clear and the summer transfer window gathering momentum, Nathan Ngoumou’s future is shaping up to be one of the notable transfer stories involving a Cameroonian player this offseason.
The coming weeks are expected to be decisive as Anderlecht and the other interested clubs look to convince both Borussia Mönchengladbach and the player before the new season gets underway.
