Amr Warda expressed his astonishment at rumors suggesting the termination of his contract with the Greek club Panetolikos, affirming that certain individuals in Egypt are attempting to jeopardize his footballing career.

In an interview on DMC channel’s “Al Captain” program, Warda clarified that his contract with Panetolikos ended as scheduled on April 30th, after joining the team in January to aid their battle against relegation.

“The Greek club issued a statement expressing gratitude for my contributions, including 5 goals and 4 assists. However, some in Egypt have been speaking negatively about me without justification,” Warda stated.

“My goal is to return to the Egyptian national team. My recent experience with Panetolikos has helped me regain my form, earning me the title of Player of the Month twice in the league,” he added.

Dispelling rumors, Warda emphasized that he did not sign contracts with five clubs, as FIFA regulations prohibit such actions. He clarified that he did not join any Iranian or Cypriot clubs this season.

Warda admitted to struggling to adapt to the atmosphere of the Egyptian league again after previously playing for Wadi Degla, but the club’s management agreed to his departure.

The footballer revealed that he got married several months ago to seek stability and enhance his focus on football.

“I keep in touch with all the Egyptian national team players, including Mohamed Salah, Mohamed Elneny, Ahmed Hegazi, and Mahmoud Hassan ‘Trezeguet’,” Warda stated.

“I attempted to contact the Egyptian national team coaching staff led by Hossam Hassan, who previously coached me at the Union, but I couldn’t reach the twins. I hope to get the opportunity to play for the Pharaohs again,” he concluded.
