Amir Sayoud, the Algerian player formerly of Al Ahly and currently with Al-Raed in Saudi Arabia, has stirred controversy within his team.
Sayoud joined Al-Raed earlier this season after departing from Al-Taawoun.
According to Saudi newspaper “Al Riyadh,” Igor Jovicevic, the coach of Al-Raed, submitted a report to the club’s management regarding the player.
The Croatian coach explained that Amir Sayoud is reluctant to participate with the team, which led to his absence from the recent Saudi league match against Al-Fayha.
Reports suggest that Al-Raed’s management will decide Amir Sayoud’s future within the next 48 hours.
At 33 years old, Sayoud has played 18 matches for Al-Raed, scoring 5 goals and providing 2 assists.
Sayoud initially played 13 matches for Al Ahly at the start of his career in 2010 before moving between several clubs and eventually settling with Al-Raed in Saudi Arabia.
It is worth noting that Sayoud led the Algerian national team to victory in the latest edition of the Arab Cup held in Qatar.
