Morocco midfielder Amine Harit’s injury not as serious as feared

Morocco midfielder Amine Harit escaped a serious injury scare after being forced off during Marseille’s 2-1 defeat by Paris Saint-Germain in the French Ligue 1 on Sunday.

Harit started the Classique at the Velodrome but was substituted in the 62nd minute, shortly before PSG took the lead through Ferran Torres.

The 29-year-old has been a regular starter for Marseille at the beginning of the season, making his early departure a concern for the French club and Morocco supporters.

Genesio provides reassuring update

Marseille coach Bruno Genesio later revealed that Harit’s withdrawal was caused by cramps rather than a serious injury.

“Amine, I think it’s cramps, so there’s nothing serious,” Genesio said after the match.

Harit had played an important role in Marseille’s attacking set-up, starting alongside Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Amine Gouiri before being replaced.

His departure came with the sides still level, before Angel Gomes eventually equalised for Marseille.

Marquinhos seals PSG victory

PSG regained the advantage when Marquinhos scored in the 74th minute to secure victory for the visitors.

The defeat extended Marseille’s difficult start to the Ligue 1 season, with the club suffering a fifth consecutive loss and falling to 17th place after five rounds.
