Galatasaray’s pursuit of Amine Gouiri has hit a dead end as Rennes rejected a €15M offer for the Algerian international.
The forward, under contract until 2027, has made it clear he’s committed to staying in Brittany.
At the start of the week, Galatasaray initiated contact with Stade Rennais, seeking to explore Gouiri’s availability. Despite the Turkish club’s ambitious proposal of €13M fixed and €2M in bonuses, Rennes swiftly declined. The 24-year-old forward, who joined Rennes on a five-year deal on September 1, 2022, for €28M, has been a cornerstone of the squad and a favorite of Argentine coach Jorge Sampaoli.
Born in France to Algerian parents, Gouiri holds dual citizenship and has represented Algeria six times at the international level. His refusal to engage with Galatasaray underscores his loyalty to Rennes and desire to grow within the club.
For now, Rennes’ steadfast stance and Gouiri’s commitment signal that the player will remain a key figure in their ambitions for the upcoming seasons.
