Amin Chiakha wins Eliteserien young player award for second month
Amin Chiakha has been named the Eliteserien’s best young player for August after another prolific month for Rosenborg, continuing a run of form that has seen the Algerian striker collect goals and individual awards.
The 18-year-old has now received the award for a second consecutive month after also being recognised as the league’s best young player in July.
The monthly prize is awarded by a jury made up of Norsk Toppfotball and TV 2, with Chiakha’s performances earning him the latest recognition.
“Amin Chiakha picks up exactly where he left off in July…” It was in these particularly laudatory terms that the official jury, jointly composed of Norsk Toppfotball and the TV 2 channel, officially designated the young Algerian striker as the best young player of the month of August in the Eliteserien.
Chiakha has enjoyed a strong period in Norway over the past two months, producing decisive performances for Rosenborg while continuing to add to his personal collection of awards.
After receiving the July prize, he has followed it up by taking the same honour again for August.
His form has also established him as one of Rosenborg’s most important attacking players. Following his permanent move to the Norwegian club, the centre-forward has continued to make his mark in the Eliteserien.
Chiakha currently leads the league’s scoring charts with 12 goals, underlining his importance to Rosenborg’s attacking play.
His consistency in front of goal has also contributed to his return to the Algeria national team.
The striker has been recalled to the national side after missing the 2026 World Cup, giving him another opportunity to represent Algeria at international level.
Chiakha has maintained his scoring form since the beginning of September and has continued to produce decisive contributions for Rosenborg.
In the two matches played since the start of the month, he has scored three goals and provided one assist.
That return has kept the young forward among the standout attacking players in the Norwegian league and added to the momentum he has built during the past two months.
Rosenborg will now look to Chiakha once again when they travel to face Kristiansund on Saturday.
The away fixture offers the striker another chance to continue his current run and add to his impressive numbers.
With another young player award secured and 12 league goals already to his name, Chiakha enters the match in strong form.
His latest recognition also continues a remarkable period for the Algerian, who has gone from collecting individual honours to earning another opportunity with the national team while establishing himself as a key attacking figure for Rosenborg.
