American forward of Liberian descent, Timothy Weah, has completed his transfer to French Ligue 1 side Olympique Marseille.

The Ligue 1 giants announced the acquisition of the talented winger in an official statement on Wednesday, August 6.

“OM is pleased to announce the arrival of young American right winger, 25 years old, Timothy Weah,” Marseille said in its statement.

The deal includes a mandatory purchase clause set at €14 million, with potential bonuses pushing the total fee to €17 million.

This move marks a return to familiar territory for Weah, who previously played in Ligue 1 for Paris Saint-Germain and Lille OSC, winning league titles with both clubs.

Marseille will hope his experience and winning mentality can help guide them to silverware under new manager Roberto De Zerbi.

Weah is expected to challenge for the starting right-back role in De Zerbi’s system, though his versatility allows him to operate further up the pitch.

He also provides valuable cover for fellow winger Mason Greenwood, offering depth and flexibility on the right flank.
