Amed SK bring in Nigeria winger Yira Sor after Genk spell

Nigeria winger Yira Sor has joined Turkish Super Lig club Amed SK from Belgian side Genk, adding a left-sided attacker to the club’s squad for the new season.

The 26-year-old, who was born in Lagos, switches from Genk’s Jupiler Pro League set-up after spending the previous part of his career in Belgium. Sor operates primarily as a left winger and is right-footed, offering Amed a wide attacking option capable of playing from the opposite side of his stronger foot.

Sor’s arrival gives Amed a player with experience of competing in European football environments. Before moving to Genk, he represented Czech club SK Slavia Prague, where he won the Czech Cup during the 2022-23 season.

The winger stands 1.78m tall and has Nigeria listed as his nationality. His move to Amed marks a change of league and country, taking him from Belgium’s top flight to the Turkish Super Lig.

Sor’s most notable honour came during his time at Slavia Prague, with the Czech Cup triumph providing the latest major trophy of his senior career. He now joins an Amed side that will benefit from his recognised role on the left flank and his ability to cut inside on his right foot.

The transfer was completed on 10 August 2026, with Sor becoming an Amed SK player after leaving Genk.
