AmaZulu will be aiming to secure their third consecutive victory when they face TS Galaxy at Mbombela Stadium on Saturday at 15:30. The last time the club achieved this feat was at the start of the 2022/23 season under then-coach Brandon Truter, who led the team to victories over SuperSport United, Cape Town City, and Moroka Swallows.
Under the guidance of current coaches Vusi Vilakazi and Arthur Zwane, AmaZulu have recently secured back-to-back wins against Chippa United and Richards Bay, lifting them to 13th place in the Premier Division standings with six points from six matches.
Midfielder Ethan Brooks, who scored the third goal in the win over Richards Bay, is determined to build on the team’s recent form.
“It would be perfect to keep that momentum going,” said Brooks. “Mentally, we’re ready and started preparing on Monday. Everyone is focused on this weekend’s game.”
Both AmaZulu and TS Galaxy have undergone significant changes in coaching staff this season. AmaZulu parted ways with Pablo Franco Martin, while Sead Ramovic resigned from his position at Galaxy.
Both teams are currently on six points, with Galaxy sitting just below AmaZulu in 14th place due to an inferior goal difference.
Last season, TS Galaxy proved a tough opponent for AmaZulu, securing six points in their encounters. Brooks, who previously played for Galaxy, acknowledged the challenge of facing his former team.
“I expect a very good game from TS Galaxy. It’s always nice to play against them, even if we don’t win games often, because I started there,” Brooks commented.
With both teams in need of points to climb the standings, Saturday’s match promises to be a highly competitive encounter, as AmaZulu look to continue their recent resurgence and strengthen their position in the league.
