Senegalese forward Amara Diouf is set to join FC Metz when he turns 18, despite ongoing disputes with Génération Foot.
Metz sporting director Frédéric Arpinon has reassured fans that the young talent remains committed to the club’s pathway.
Speaking on Graoully Mag on Moselle TV, Arpinon addressed Metz’s transfer plans, including Diouf’s situation.
The 16-year-old, already capped twice for Senegal, has been embroiled in a dispute with the Dakar-based academy, which has strong ties to Metz.
However, Mady Touré, president of Génération Foot, recently stated that he would personally oversee Diouf’s career and expects him to join Metz once eligible.
Arpinon confirmed, “Yes, normally, Amara Diouf will be a player of FC Metz.
I worked for two years at the academy, I discovered him there.
His contract ends this year at Génération Foot but he will re-sign, if he has not already done so.
He must be 18 years old to come to Europe.
For now, Diouf remains at Génération Foot, continuing his development.
Metz fans can take comfort in knowing the club’s strong relationship with the academy is likely to bring another promising talent to France.
