Amara Diouf Begins New Career Chapter After Fenerbahçe Transfer

Amara Diouf has officially completed his move to Turkish club Fenerbahçe, with the highly rated Senegalese forward signing a five-year contract after leaving Génération Foot.

The 18-year-old striker, who emerged as one of Africa’s most promising young talents, has now secured a fresh start after a challenging period that affected his progress on the pitch.

Diouf’s journey over recent months has been difficult. The young forward faced personal tragedy following the death of his father in December 2024, while a serious injury also kept him away from competitive football for several months.

His situation was further complicated by a dispute with Génération Foot, the academy where he developed his talent.

Despite those setbacks, Fenerbahçe have moved to secure his services and believe they have signed a player with significant potential.

The Turkish club confirmed the agreement and revealed that Diouf will be guided through a carefully planned development programme.

“A five-year contract has been signed with Amara Diouf, considered one of the most promising young talents in African football,” Fenerbahçe said in a statement.

“The young player’s development will be ensured through a structured and closely monitored program.”

The move represents a different path for Diouf compared with many other players from Génération Foot, who have traditionally moved to France through the academy’s partnership with FC Metz.

Diouf made history when he became the youngest player to represent the Senegal national team, making his debut at 15 years, three months and two days. His early rise attracted attention from several major European clubs, including FC Barcelona.

Fenerbahçe are aware of the expectations surrounding the teenager and have made it clear that they are focusing on his long-term growth rather than immediate results.

“Our club sees Amara Diouf as a major asset for the future, beyond short-term expectations, thanks to an individualized training program, rigorous planning, and a sustainable development approach,” the club added.

The Turkish side now hopes to help Diouf regain full fitness and continue his development as he begins the next stage of his career.
