Amanda Martins says Roma defender Wesley Franca recorded encounters with other women

Amanda Martins says her marriage to Roma defender Wesley Franca has ended after she discovered evidence of repeated infidelity, including during her pregnancy.

The 23-year-old Brazilian’s wife made the allegations in posts on her Instagram account, saying she had personally seen photographs and videos of Franca meeting other women. She said he was wearing his wedding ring in some of the material, which she claimed showed a lack of consideration for her and their relationship.

Martins said she decided to speak publicly after rumours and reports about her private life began circulating on social media. According to her account, Franca’s alleged infidelity was not an isolated incident but happened repeatedly and involved several women, including sex workers.

She said she had accessed the player’s phone and found what she described as evidence of the meetings. Martins added that she transferred the photographs and videos to her own phone after seeing the details for herself.

‘Wesley cheated on me during pregnancy’

Martins said discovering the alleged affairs caused her significant emotional distress. She claimed she gave Franca several opportunities to admit what had happened, but that he repeatedly denied it while she was left dealing with the pain and crying over what she had found.

She said she had never expected to discuss the details of her marriage so openly because she was naturally a private person. However, she decided to reveal what she described as years of suffering, including an allegation that Franca cheated on her while she was pregnant.

At the time, Martins said she chose not to publish details online. Instead, she forgave him and tried to rebuild a stable family life and marriage. She said she eventually concluded that her efforts had not changed his behaviour.

Anxiety and public incidents

Martins also described incidents she said occurred when the couple went to restaurants and other public places. She alleged that Franca asked waitresses and other women for their telephone numbers, including while they were waiting in queues for toilets.

She said his behaviour, particularly when he had been drinking alcohol, caused her psychological pressure and episodes of anxiety that she had not experienced before. Martins added that she sometimes blamed herself and questioned whether she had failed him in some way, before coming to the view that responsibility did not lie with her.

Concluding her statement, Martins confirmed that she and Franca had separated. She said he was now free to live his personal life and that his actions no longer mattered to her after she had lost hope of receiving even a basic level of respect in the relationship.

Martins and Franca have one daughter. The available text did not include a response from the Brazilian player to the allegations made by his former wife.

Franca has represented Brazil in eight matches. He previously played for Atletico Tubarao and Flamengo before joining Roma.
