Ivorian midfielder Amadou Koné linked with Ligue 1 return through Strasbourg
Amadou Koné could be set for a return to Ligue 1 just one year after leaving Stade de Reims, with Racing Club de Strasbourg reportedly increasing their interest in the Ivorian midfielder.
The 20-year-old enjoyed a solid campaign with Neom SC, where he made 30 appearances and contributed two goals and one assist during the season.
His performances have continued to attract attention from clubs monitoring emerging young talents across Europe.
According to Media Foot, Strasbourg are among the clubs most interested in securing the midfielder ahead of the summer transfer window. \The Ligue 1 side are believed to appreciate Koné’s profile as they continue their strategy of recruiting and developing promising young players.
Strasbourg’s interest comes after a positive season for the French club. The Alsatian side finished eighth in Ligue 1, reached the semi-finals of the Coupe de France and also secured qualification for the Europa League.
Those achievements have reportedly encouraged the club to strengthen its squad further ahead of next season.
Koné is viewed as a potential reinforcement capable of adding quality and energy to Strasbourg’s midfield options.\ His age, development potential and recent performances have made him an attractive target as the club prepares for another demanding campaign.
However, any move could prove financially complicated. Neom invested around €13 million to sign the Ivorian midfielder and may demand a significant transfer fee if they decide to negotiate his departure this summer.
The midfielder remains under contract with the Saudi club until June 2029, while his estimated market value currently stands at around €6 million.
Despite that valuation, growing interest around the player could increase competition for his signature in the coming months.
After departing Reims last summer, Koné has quickly rebuilt momentum in his career through his performances in Saudi Arabia.
His progress has now reopened the possibility of a return to French football, with Strasbourg emerging as one of the clubs most closely linked to the Ivorian talent.
As the summer transfer window approaches, Koné is expected to remain one of the young African players attracting attention across the European market.
