Amadou Kone linked with Atalanta in move from NEOM SC

Ivorian-Malian midfielder Amadou Kone is being linked with a move from Saudi Pro League club NEOM SC to Serie A side Atalanta.

The 21-year-old defensive midfielder joined NEOM from Stade Reims on 3 July 2025 in a deal worth €13.32m. He has a contract with the Saudi club until 30 June 2029.

Kone has made 32 Saudi Pro League appearances, scoring two goals and providing one assist. His current market value is listed at €7m.

The midfielder began his senior career with Reims’ reserve side before moving into the French club’s first team in 2024. He made 40 Ligue 1 appearances, playing 1,769 minutes, before leaving France for NEOM.

The reported interest from Atalanta would represent a return to Europe for Kone after one season in Saudi Arabia. No transfer fee or agreement between the clubs has been established, and the move remains at the rumour stage.

Kone was born in Bamako and holds Ivorian and Malian nationality. He is left-footed and operates primarily in defensive midfield. He remains a NEOM player under a long-term contract.
