Amadou Konaté’s adventure with US Boulogne-sur-Mer will come to an early end. Signed from Valenciennes last summer, the 22-year-old striker will not see out the season with the National side. USBCO officially announced on Thursday that the French-Malian forward has left the club by mutual agreement, marking a swift conclusion to what had been an eventful first campaign at the Stade de la Libération.

According to L’Équipe, Konaté is set to take the next step in his career abroad, having signed a three-and-a-half-year contract with Norwegian top-flight club Bodø/Glimt. The Eliteserien side, whose domestic season begins at the end of the month, has moved quickly to secure the striker’s services, offering him the opportunity to test himself in a new environment and at a higher competitive level.

Konaté’s rise this season has been one of the surprises of the National league. Discovered last summer while playing in R1 (formerly Division d’Honneur), the forward initially arrived at Boulogne-sur-Mer to train with the first team, without any guarantee of regular playing time. However, his commitment, physical qualities, and eye for goal quickly convinced the coaching staff, and he went on to establish himself as a key member of the squad.

In total, Konaté made 16 appearances out of a possible 27 matches in the league, an impressive achievement for a player who had not been expected to play such a prominent role at the start of the season. He made an immediate impact in front of goal, scoring four times during the months of August and September. His early-season form was instrumental in Boulogne’s attacking play and earned him recognition as one of the league’s emerging talents.

However, after this promising start, the striker’s momentum gradually slowed. From October onward, Konaté found it harder to rediscover his scoring touch, managing just one additional goal, which came against Bourg. Despite this dip in form, his overall contribution and potential remained evident, attracting interest from clubs beyond France’s borders.

Bodø/Glimt’s move for Konaté reflects the Norwegian club’s strategy of recruiting young, high-upside players capable of developing quickly. Known for their dynamic style of play and competitive presence in the Eliteserien, the Norwegian side sees Konaté as a long-term investment who can grow into an important attacking option over the coming seasons.

For Boulogne-sur-Mer, the departure represents both a loss and an acknowledgment of the player’s rapid progression. Allowing Konaté to leave by mutual consent suggests a recognition of his desire to pursue a new challenge, while also freeing the club to reorganize its attacking options for the remainder of the season.

As he prepares to begin a new chapter in Norway, Amadou Konaté leaves Boulogne with the image of a player who seized his opportunity and made a lasting impression in a short period of time. His move to Bodø/Glimt offers him the chance to relaunch his momentum, rediscover his scoring form, and continue a career trajectory that has already proven anything but ordinary.Amadou Konaté’s adventure with US Boulogne-sur-Mer will come to an early end.
