Alphonso Davies future remains in doubt
Alphonso Davies’ Bayern Munich future is under fresh scrutiny after reports suggested the club could be willing to cash in on the Canada international this summer.
The left-back has struggled with recurring injury problems and Bayern are now said to be reconsidering his value after only 16 Bundesliga appearances since signing his contract extension in February 2025.
Davies has been one of Bayern’s most recognizable names since arriving from Vancouver Whitecaps FC on January 1, 2019, after a record-breaking deal agreed in July 2018 for about €10.8 million. He initially stayed in Vancouver on loan until the end of the 2018 MLS season before making the move to Germany.
His biggest breakthrough came in the 2019/20 campaign under Hansi Flick, who took over in November 2019 and transformed him from a winger into a left-back. The switch unlocked his pace and crossing ability, helping him become a major part of Bayern’s attack and defensive balance.
Despite that rise, Bayern are now open to offers if a suitable bid arrives this summer.
