Canadian left-back of Liberian descent Alphonso Davies has secured his long-term future at Bayern Munich by agreeing to a new four-and-a-half-year contract that will keep him at the club until the summer of 2030, per the Athletic.

The 24-year-old, who was born in a refuge camp in Ghana, had been attracting interest from Real Madrid and several Premier League clubs as his previous deal approached its expiration in June 2025.

Bayern Munich prioritized retaining Davies, and the club has now finalized an agreement with the player. The terms of the contract are expected to be officially signed this week.

Davies first joined Bayern in January 2019 from Major League Soccer side Vancouver Whitecaps and has since been instrumental in the club’s success, winning five Bundesliga titles and playing a vital role in their 2020 Champions League triumph.

This season, Davies has made 25 appearances across all competitions, contributing one goal and three assists.

Despite currently being sidelined with a hamstring injury sustained during Bayern’s Champions League loss to Feyenoord in December, his renewal provides a major boost to the club as they aim to reclaim domestic dominance.
