Alpha Ssali joins Express after KCCA FC spell
Uganda centre-forward Alpha Ssali has joined Express from KCCA FC, strengthening the Kampala club’s attacking options ahead of the new Uganda Premier League season.
The 22-year-old returns to Express after one season with KCCA, having moved to the league rivals from NEC FC in September 2025. Ssali previously represented Express during the 2024-25 campaign, joining from Proline FC before switching to NEC in February 2025.
Ssali made 29 Uganda Premier League appearances during the recorded campaign, scoring three goals and providing two assists. He played 1,218 minutes in total, averaging one goal every 406 minutes.
Born in Kampala, Ssali is a right-footed centre-forward and has represented Ugandan clubs throughout his senior career. His return to Express gives the club a familiar attacking player with experience of the domestic top flight and of moving between established teams in the competition.
Express are his third club in just over a year after his departures from the club and NEC, followed by his spell at KCCA. His earlier move to Express from Proline was completed in August 2023, while his subsequent switch from Express to NEC was recorded as a free transfer.
The latest change brings Ssali back to the club he represented before joining NEC and places him once again in the Uganda Premier League. His league record provides the available statistical context for the move, with his three goals and two assists coming across 29 appearances.
Ssali’s transfer from KCCA FC to Express was completed on 21 August 2026.
