Alou Diarra Seeks New Challenge After Leaving West Ham
By BBC Sport
Former French international Alou Diarra has officially terminated his contract with West Ham United and is currently a free agent. Despite being without a club, the midfielder has been training with Girondins de Bordeaux since the start of their summer preseason.
Speaking on the football programme J+1 this Monday, Diarra expressed optimism about his future: “I’ve terminated my contract with West Ham to find a new challenge… Physically, I’m in top form.”
Although no formal agreement has yet been reached with Bordeaux, Diarra has not ruled out a return to Ligue 1. “I’m not prioritising the financial aspect; playing in Ligue 1 isn’t impossible,” he added.
The 32-year-old, known for his leadership and experience, is hoping to secure a deal before the end of August and continue his career in France’s top flight.
