Almeria lead Eibar after supporter incident prompts match stoppage

Almeria’s match against Eibar was temporarily suspended after a supporter fell from the stands while celebrating the Andalusian side’s opening goal.

The incident occurred in the 20th minute, shortly after Kim Jun-yent put Almeria ahead. The goal followed a flowing team move, with Almeria exchanging a series of quick passes before the ball reached Arribas inside the penalty area. He immediately played it across to Kim Jun-yent, who finished into the net.

As the players and supporters celebrated, a fan fell from the stand, prompting the referee to stop the match and call for medical assistance. The incident caused concern inside the stadium as emergency teams attended to the supporter.

The referee then instructed both teams to leave the pitch and return to their dressing rooms while the response continued. A stadium announcement said: “For the safety of those present, the match has been suspended for a few minutes.”

The supporter recovered after receiving medical treatment, and play resumed in the 25th minute with Almeria still leading 1-0.

The accompanying fixture information lists Pamplona in the Copa del Rey on 03 November 2026. It also shows Eibar facing Girona in the Spanish second division on 08 November 2026, with Almeria also listed.
